5-Star customer service
In January 2017 Daycee Swain started at Griplock Systems and it was evident from the beginning that the company had found its future Customer Service Manager. Though, no one could replace Shirley McMillion and her 17 years of experience, it was obvious that when she chose to retire, Daycee would be a more than capable successor, able to carry on a legacy of 5-star customer service without missing a beat.
Daycee has been in customer service for about 15 years, working for companies like Karl Storz Endoscopy. There, she was a Customer Service and Repair Coordinator, which included repairs and warranty determination, purchasing, and training new employees with company daily duties, policies, and procedures. Before starting at Griplock, she was a stay-at-home mom. That only lasted about 6 months before she realized how much she loved helping customers and wanted to get back into the workforce.
Daycee’s favorite part of her job is being able to listen to customers and find the perfect suspension solution for their various projects. And while there is no “typical day” at Griplock Systems, (Daycee says every day is like a box of chocolates), as the Customer Service Manager her job not only entails providing 5-star customer service, but also maintaining company policies and procedures and making sure they are being followed, addressing any issues – both internal and external, and providing a productive and motivating working environment.
Daycee is inspired by her colleagues at work, but in life, her family is her inspiration and always comes first. Daycee is married with 3 children, 1 boy and 2 girls. She loves spending time with her family and friends, just relaxing or getting away on mini trips out of town. When she has a little time to herself, she loves reading and watching anything that is based on true stores or events.
No matter where she is, Daycee tries not to pay attention to things she has no control of and believes what John Taskinsoy wrote, “Real success lies in the realization that you have control over what you can do.” And as Tim Tebow said, “Things we can control…Attitude, effort, focus.”
