  • How does Rincon® power light fixtures?

This patented powered suspension system utilizes aircraft cable which is composed of high tensile strength stainless steel with an internal copper core. The copper core is conductive, allowing an electrical current to power your low-voltage fixture.

  • With electrical current flowing through the cable, is it safe to touch?

Rincon™ is only used with low-voltage fixtures with a remote UL class 2 driver, so the cables are completely safe to touch. The voltage is so low you won’t be able to feel anything.

  • What types of fixtures can Rincon® power?

The Rincon® powered suspension system powers any low-voltage class 2 application including lighting fixtures, light boxes, signage, etc.

  • What are the power/voltage/current limitations for the Rincon® system?

Voltage: Canada updated their standards so we can remove the ‘(30VDC Canada)’ statement.
The 42.4VAC rating should include “(non-sinusoidal ac)” clarifier right after.

    Power:
“Power is limited to 100W” true when the circuit exceeds 20V
If the circuit is 20V or below then the max power is limited to 5xVmax

    Current:
“Current is limited to 100/Vmax” This is true if circuit voltage is above 20V
If the voltage is 20V or below then the max current is 5.0Amps
(See table 30.2 from UL 1310 for more info about Power & Current max ratings.)

  • How much weight can be suspended?

The safe working load (which is 20% of the minimum break strength) is 40 lbs. per suspension using the ASC-17 1/16” cable, 20 lbs. per suspension using the ACCS-16 1/16" cable, and 100 lbs. per suspension using the ASC-24 3/32” cable.

  • Can I use just one cable?

The system utilizes two cables, one cable for the positive feed and one for the negative. It is ideal for linear fixtures, light boxes, or multi-pendant LED fixtures requiring multiple suspensions.

  • What is included in one Rincon® kit?

A kit includes 2 conductive cables, 2 sets of ceiling assembly hardware and 2 sets of fixture assembly hardware.

  • What grippers can be used with the Rincon® system?

Almost any Type 15, 18, 25 and 30 grippers are suitable. Griplock’s customer service professionals will consult with you to find the right gripper and accessories to fit your fixture. Griplock® however has a few options designed to specifically work better with the Rincon system.

  • What length of cable is included?

Standard lengths are 48”, 120”, 180” or 240”. Custom lengths are available upon request.

  • How long of a cable run can I do?

This depends on a few different factors primarily the specifications of the driver and LED’s being used. Griplock® has a design calculator to help determine the maximum run or voltage drop over a given distance based on your driver and LED specifications.

  • Can I daisy chain multiple linear fixtures together?

Yes as long as the total power draw does not exceed 100W.
