Brighten up your day and celebrate National LED Light Day with Griplock Systems on October 7.
Since 2016, National LED Light Day has been observed on October 7 to recognize and celebrate the advancements of one of the most important scientific achievements in recent history, the development of blue light-emitting diodes. This technology was developed by Isamu Akasaki, Hiroshi Amano, and Shuji Nakamura, who all received a Nobel prize in Physics on October 7, 2014 for their achievement. It’s because of Akasaki, Amano, and Nakamura’s invention that white LEDs became possible.
Due to their discovery, it became possible for the wide-spread adoption of LED lights in our everyday lives, which we all know have a longer lifespan, consume less power, and help us save on our energy costs compared to any other type of light.
The LED revolution changed the lighting landscape and pushed Griplock Systems to create newer cable suspension systems. With the lighter-weight materials now being used, smaller cable and gripper combinations could be used, allowing for more focus and attention given to the fixture itself. Hence, Griplock Systems developed the Wisp™ Lightweight Cable Suspension System, which utilizes ultra-small Type 10 and 12 grippers and 1/32”-1mm aircraft cable.
The much lower power consumption and safety aspect of class 2 drivers also allowed for the development of the patented Rincon® Powered Suspension System by Griplock® Systems, which both suspends and powers class 2 LED fixtures without the need of a separate power cord, providing a clean, modern, and elegant look. There are currently 3 types of powered suspension system available, Rincon®, Rincon® Plus, and Rincon® HD.
